We’re looking for a friendly, reliable and responsible Night Porter to help provide a welcoming service to our guests while maintaining the security and safety of the hotel during the night.

What will you be doing?

As a Night Porter, you'll play an important role in keeping our hotel safe, secure and welcoming while most of our guests are asleep. You'll continue the great service provided by our daytime reception team and be an important point of contact for guests throughout the night.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out front-of-house duties, including welcoming guests and responding to their needs.
• Providing a friendly, professional and efficient service throughout the night.
• Dealing with guest requests and helping to ensure they have a comfortable stay.
• Maintaining the security of the hotel during the night, as directed by Hotel Management.
• Carrying out regular security walks of the hotel and recording checks and actions in the appropriate log.
• Following the correct procedures in the event of an emergency, including fire safety procedures and situations where a guest becomes ill.
• Following lone-working and “buddy” contact procedures to ensure your own safety while working at night.
• Following company Health & Safety procedures and helping to maintain a safe environment for guests and colleagues.
• Assisting guests with luggage when required.
• Ensuring any issues or incidents are reported appropriately to Hotel Management.

What are we looking for?

Previous hotel or night porter experience is helpful but isn't essential. We're looking for someone who is responsible, approachable and comfortable working independently.

• Calm and professional when dealing with guests or unexpected situations.
• Observant and able to follow security and safety procedures carefully.
• Confident responding to guest requests and providing assistance when needed.
• Willing to follow Health & Safety, emergency and lone-working procedures.
• Positive and committed to creating a great experience for our guests.

The role includes weekends and bank holidays, with a typical Night Porter shift running from 11:00pm to 7:00am.
